The Chia Smart Plant Pot was a proposal for the Royal Society of Arts Competition Brief 2021-22:

How might we improve the experience for the increasing number of people with hybrid working patterns ?

Following extensive qualitative and quantitative research, the issue of the boundary between work and home life, was found to be the most pressing concern for the majority of hybrid workers.

The design proposed enhancing, or making 'smart', a simple familiar object already present in most homes; the plant pot, as an aid in defining these two distinct states within the single domestic environment.
