I was commissioned by Lemon Studio Paris to design a POS unit for their client Sony Playstation (Europe), that would promote PS5 games titles and hardware.
Several initial concepts were proposed for both a brand specific Astrobot unit, and a more general one that would display several titles.
The final chosen design was a simplified option under the general Playstation 'Shapes' brand, which offered an acceptable fabrication cost per unit, and easy straightforward assembly on site by retail staff.
The client requested two formats, a narrow and a wider version. As a modular configuration, this meant only the production of two additional elements to the standard parts, in two sizes; the top 'hood', and one of the base units.
The smaller of the units have featured in retail outlets, throughout France, from the end of 2024, displaying current games titles, consoles, gift cards and accessories.
Animated sequences were also produced to clearly demonstrate the simple assembly procedure for those on the shop floor.
